Humans get divorced and dogs get married

Canine weddings or puptials are becoming increasingly popular nowadays. Known dog clothes designers like Carol Blanchette of Emma Rose have even left the haute couture bridal industry to specialize in canine weddings.

Doggie Clothesline is another example of a business that caters to this industry. They sell dog tuxedos, dog bow ties and neckties, ring bearer outfits, dog wedding dresses, fancy bridesmaid and party dresses, wedding veils and hair bows.. all for dogs.

When coordinating a canine weddings, dog owners are as particular as when planning a human one: decorations must match the outfit, invitations need to be sent out in a timely fashion, the bride's dress might need custom fitting, etc. The big day also requires accessories such as tiaras, veils, garters, etc which businesses such as Lil' Angel Pet Boutique and Gallery are all to.o happy to carry in their inventory.

And, yes you guessed it, there are wedding planners who specialize in canine weddings. Scott Rinehart and Jim Poer of wiskers.com say that planning such an event can cost anywhere from $400 to $10,000. A Canadian company called Dogge I Do's offers basic wedding packages for 25 guests for around $4000.

Now, you may wonder how this whole canine wedding affair ever became so popular? Well, puptials first made headlines when Pamela Anderson arranged a wedding for her Golden Retriever to marry her Chihuahua Luca in Malibu Beach, California.

Now pets too have their 'now you may kiss the bride' moment!
