Documentary about the rise of cricket in the Caribbean
Two videos about Fire in Babylon:
An inspiring triumph against the odds story of the West Indies cricket team - transformed from underdogs pummelled by their rivals Australia and England into being world class and unbeaten for 15 years. They were the first all black sports team who enjoyed such a glorious winning streak: their story sits alongside the likes of Ali and Jesse Owens as a sporting triumph that also struck an enormous blow against racism and inequality.Via.

New Star Wars: The Old Republic footage
13 minutes of gameplay from Star Wars: The Old Republic, featuring a mission called The Esseles. This is the best gameplay video yet - - there's a delightfully chubby NPC at the beginning, and a truly despicable moral choice halfway through. (And lots of Mandalorians.) Via.

Watch the Grant Morrison documentary Talking With Gods
The Grant Morrison documentary Talking With Gods is really well-done. Morrison's success = talent + the exact right amount of drugs + very hard work (+ top notch collaborators). But Final Crisis is lousy. I've tried rereading it, and it does not get better. And telling critics that it's supposed to be confusing, or that they're loser supergeeks who aren't deep enough to get it, is pathetic.
(Sorry if you don't get Hulu where you live.)

Gender-bending episode of Adventure Time
Fionna and Cake preview:
That’s Madeliene Martin as Fionna, Roz Ryan as Cake, Grey DeLisle as the Ice Queen, and Neil Patrick Harris as Prince Gumball. And a very special nod to Natasha Allegri for singing the main title. And since I don't think I ever posted it, here's Avenger Time:

Trailers, trailers, trailers
Gina Carano as some sort of unstoppable super spy in Haywire.
Tremendous concept for Awake, a new series starring Jason Isaacs. (The same idea was used to great effect in Matt Kindt's Revolver.)
Bryan Singer warns the world of the dangers of being a cyborg in a digital series called H+. (Very similar to the Purity First trailer for Deus Ex: Human revolution.)
Lackluster trailer for Drive that seems to give away far too much of the plot. The previous movie footage was a much better advertisement.
HAL 9000 wins the chess game in 2001 by cheating (and more)
I've been watching a fascinating series of film analyses by Rober Ager. In this first video, he shows that HAL 9000 was based on IBM, and that HAL wins the chess game against the astronaut by cheating in two ways:

This next video is about The Shining and how the Overlook Hotel and hedge maze shift architecturally throughout the movie:

(I've previously linked to as series of posts explaining that the protagonist of The Shining is the hotel.)
There's many more videos in the series, including a look at Aliens (Cameron's take on Vietnam?). Via these sites.

I just thought you might enjoy this Fabio wallpaper
W+K is now scraping the bottom of the barrel to get attention for Old Spice, casting Fabio in a series of inane commercials. The real irony is that the commercials were probably never remotely as succesfuly as they were claimed to be - - they just happened to coincide with a coupon that was very useful to coupon ninjas.
Red Bull King Of The Rock trophy
This video shows highlights from several of the qualifying rounds of Red Bull's King Of The Rock. Mildly interesting, but mostly I liked the trophy (the finals are on Alcatraz):
